After Sharon and Johnny's wedding, Berg and Irene end up in bed together. However, they do not want anybody to know and go to extraordinary lengths to keep it secret. Pete and Marti also make plans for a date but, when Pete arrives, he is severely injured when he finds a baby bear there. Sharon and Johnny's marriage is going along as expected, she is a spendthrift and he is frugal. This causes their honeymoon to be curtailed. However, he redeems himself because it turns out that he has bought a run-down home to be Sharon's 'castle'. Written by jem

Pete finally qualifies as a fireman and loves flashing his new badge. Sharon and Johnny are starting to decorate their home but its 'christening' is taking a while. Unbeknown to Johnny, Sharon organises a house warming party. Berg and Irene are still keeping their affair a secret but it is becoming difficult. Irene reveals that she has no feelings for Berg, which upsets him because he has feelings for her. Ashley is deeply missing Nomar and Pete, in particular, is concerned about her. Written by jem

Johnny saw Berg and Irene together and is having trouble keeping it a secret. Sharon works out the secret and soon everybody else knows. Nomar might leave Boston because he is heartbroken over Ashley and she suddenly becomes a pariah. Everybody starts hating her and there is a mob that wants to run her out of town. She's enjoying the attention but manages to get Pete on the mob's hate list as well. Written by jem

It's Halloween and Irene is getting into the spirit of the occasion. She manages to turn into the Devil and curse each of the gang. The curses are a reflection on what each of them would particularly hate. Pete grows the head of Ashley on his shoulder, Sharon grows a 'winky', and Berg turns ugly. They confront Irene and she provides the solution, but it forces them to make a choice they don't want to make. Written by jem

Germ is helping some old people home but mainly succeeds in burning down their house. Johnny is being very meticulous with the house's renovations, which means that Sharon is worried that he will never finish the job. So, she employs somebody to do the job, which upsets him and he becomes irrational. Pete wants some displays of affection by Marti whilst at work but she is not keen. She wants to break up with him because she has met somebody else. Written by jem

This episode is played out like a silent movie, complete with music, sound effects and title cards. Pete fantasies about a lady in red he sees on the station, knowing that she is 'The One'. Ashley is given a lesson in manners on a train by some pregnant women. Berg and Sharon find out about how to live with no water when Johnny tries to fix the plumbing, again. Written by jem

Irene hears that Pete and Marti have split and immediately splits up with Berg so that she can plan how to get Pete back. The boys decide to go out for a night on the town. It doesn't go well when Johnny objects to the prices being charged. Sharon and Ashley head to the nightclub when Sharon finds out that Johnny left his wedding ring at home. Sharon has decided to go back to work and Ashley is helping her, which is upsetting Johnny. Pete is still pining for Marti but Irene invites him out to dinner in a restaurant, and breaks one with Berg to do so. Berg ends up travelling to the dinner as a third wheel. Johnny and Sharon end up at the same restaurant, and they have Ashley along as the third wheel. Pete upsets Irene and she finally breaks off the relationship. Written by jem

There are plenty of problems with the apartment block. Ashley's apartment toilet has sprung leaks leaks, which are leaving the boys' bedrooms on the floor below wet. They have considerably difficulty getting a good night's sleep. Berg ends up in with Sharon and Johnny, and Pete ends up in Ashley's apartment. Written by jem

Ashley's attitude gets her arrested when she is pulled over by a police officer. There is a court case and her approach almost gets her jailed. The group is dining at a restaurant when a diner starts choking on some food. Sharon rushes and saves him while Pete and Borg just look on making jokes. They are embarrassed when Johnny, who has been taping the incident, gives the tape to a local TV station. This makes Sharon a hero, and Pete and Berg pariahs. After six months, Johnny has finally completed the sitting room. However, he has used up all the money and there is nothing left for the rest of the house. Then there is a fire in the house and it is burnt down. Pete has suspicions that Johnny burnt down the house for the money. Berg's mother comes to stay for a short stay after her recent divorce. Berg is a unable to cope with her carefree approach to life and this is especially so when she starts dating another man. Written by jem

Felix is interested in Susan and makes a date with her. However, Pete and Susan start to feel an attraction towards each other. Irene is jealous of Susan, not realising that she is Berg's mother. Later, Berg introduces her to his mother, and declares that Irene is what makes him happy. Sharon wants to spend the money they received from the insurance payout and wants to invest it on the stock market following a tip from Ashley. Johnny, naturally, is very reluctant but goes ahead, secretly so that Sharon doesn't know. He ends up doubling his money but keeps it secret from. Written by jem

Berg and Irene decide to tell Pete that they are an item. Pete and Susan are still together and Susan is particularly happy but Pete doesn't want to tell Berg yet. Johnny buys an expensive thank-you present for Ashley for her stock tip but Sharon thinks it is for her. Berg and Irene have a party and all the secrets come out, and Ashley looks on with glee. After all the secrets came out we have what happens next. Pete is at the fire station when Sharon drops by and tells Felix, who likes Susan, the whole story. Felix is not happy with Pete. Pete wants to go to Albany to be with Susan but relents and decides that his friendship with Berg is more important. Sharon is offered a job as a pharmaceutical representative. She doesn't want the job and decides to go to law school. The trouble is, she wants to spend the money that they got from the stock tip and Johnny is not happy. Written by jem

Pete cuts off the tip of his finger slicing vegetables and Berg tries to get him to hospital. Things go wrong with the taxi ride and the finger is left in the taxi. Berg struggles to get it back. Sharon has trouble getting a job as an assistant in a law firm and is finally offered a position with a small-time lawyer. She is unhappy and considers him unethical. Ashley uses Johnny as a subject for a psychology paper but he deliberately makes it difficult for her. She manages to have the last laugh. Written by jem

For his birthday, Sharon buys Johnny a 'Fireman for a Day' voucher. He joins the young children in the fire station. However, he has so much fun he decides to become a fireman. Sharon is not happy because she is worried that he will be injured or worse. They are taking photographs for the hospital security and Ashley is not happy with the result. A nurse accuses Berg of not being chivalrous when he cuts in and this upsets him, as he thinks he should be liked by everybody. Ashley stands up for him. Written by jem

Berg tells Irene that he loves her but doesn't get any reaction and he is upset. Berg goes to a comic book signing and meets a girl, Katie, from his old high school. She has changed considerable and Berg doesn't recognise her. He decides to go on a date with her but she ends up as an outpatient when Berg is on duty. He is tempted but Irene finally gives him an answer. Pete and Ashley go out separately but end up at watching a romantic comedy together. Sharon takes Johnny to a business dinner for a spot of schmoozing and he has to act like a silent partner in the law firm she works for. Written by jem

Katie invites Berg to the launch of a new comic book. Ashley provides him with his conscience. Berg does his best to upset Irene by starting a fight with her. Pete is upset with him. Berg goes to the launch and it turns out that Katie is the author of the comic book. When they kiss Berg realises that Irene is the one that he really loves. But Irene is not happy when he tells her what he did. Sharon is going out on a stakeout to catch a cheating husband. Johnny is unavailable so she takes Pete with her. Pete is incompetent but they get the pictures they want. Sharon thinks Johnny is being unfaithful but he has a different reason for his strange behaviour. Written by jem

Irene is still upset at Berg for kissing Katie. However, Berg, manages to convince her to go to a residency appointment dinner with him. Ashley needs a man to act as her husband for the same dinner and she asks Pete to go with her. She tries to sabotage Irene by buying her an inappropriate dress but she turns out to be the hit of the party. It is Sharon and Johnny's anniversary and she has everything organised, but he has to stay at the fire station that night. She sneaks into the station to celebrate the day. Written by jem

Pete is drilling the trainees when he is saved by Johnny from being run over by a fire truck. He is grateful and shouts Sharon and Johnny a luxury night in a hotel. When Pete was facing death the last person he saw was Ashley and he takes that as a sign that she is who he should be with. He tries to make up with her but she spurns his overtures. Ashley then starts dreaming of Pete. Berg is still pursuing Irene but she takes up with Roger, the mailman. Written by jem

Pete and Ashley are finally together and they go out on a date together. Pete has a surprise in store for Ashley but she doesn't turn up. Berg is still after Irene but Roger is intervening and there is a confrontation between them. Roger fights dirty to keep Irene and manages to make Berg look bad. Sharon is worried that she and Johnny are no longer doing things together. When she has to serve a subpoena Johnny goes with her, but a vicious dog is in the way. Written by jem

Ashley is moving out, and Sharon and Johnny are moving into her flat. Ashley may be pregnant as she is showing some signs but is in denial about it. However, the test shows that she is. Johnny is hurt fighting a fire and he is rescued by Pete. In the hospital Sharon takes a pregnancy test but it comes back negative. Berg thinks Irene may be pregnant because the condoms he used were found to be defective. He devises an elaborate way to find out without her knowing. She turns out not to be pregnant. Written by jem
