A message from Aphrodite appears to give the Trojans cause for optimism, leading Helen to reject an offer to leave the city whilst Andromache and Hector celebrate the birth of a son but Hector then agrees to single combat with Achilles, with only one of them surviving. Simple herdsman Paris is stunned when the Greek deities ask him to choose the most beautiful of three goddesses. Denied his promised prize he travels to Troy, where king Priam identifies him as his long-lost son Alexander. His sister Cassandra is less welcoming, foretelling disaster and 'black blood' but Priam sends the young man to Sparta to make an alliance with its ruler Menelaus by marrying his teen-aged daughter Hermione. Paris, however, finds himself drawn to Menelaus's unhappy wife Helen, believing her to be the prize offered by the gods, and asks her to leave with him but she refuses. Written by don @ minifie-1

The Spartans begin their embargo to starve Troy of supplies and Paris joins the workmen digging to find water before setting out with Hector and a group to get help. One of the men is captured and killed after telling Menelaus that Helen has married Paris. Hector Paris reach a prospective ally who tells Hector he must kill Paris but the gods intervene and the pair return to Troy. Paris runs from the duel, fleeing to the hills where he was brought up, Pandarus suggesting to him not to return. Priam feels guilty about the duel, leading to discord with his children. As Breisis gets closer to Achilles a plan is devised to capture Paris whilst Hector gives the Spartans an ultimatum. Nonetheless a stalemate occurs and Paris fails to find help from the gods.
