A guy who robs a jewelry store also kidnaps his son to get back at his ex-wife. Hooker vows to get the boy back. Hooker thinks the man is in Mexico so he goes there and works with a local cop who's a bit laid back in his approach.

When Hooker and Romano respond to a robbery with two other cops. Romano and one of the cops who came are shot. And the other cop, a woman is accused of not coming to backing them up, because of an incident from her past. When several criminals are being gunned down, everyone wonders who is doing it. And when Hooker was with one of them before he was taken out, even he wonders. He gets a line on a possible witness and they find her, she says that the man was killed by a pair of cops. Later they use Hooker to get one of their targets that's when he sets out to get them. The Feds want to bust on major deal but they're worried that if any of his small operations are busted that he won't push through with the deal so they tell the police to back off but people are dying from his drugs. Hooker, Romano, Sheridan and Corrigan are staking out a Christmas tree lot. A robbery goes down and as Hooker (dressed as Santa Claus) and Romano move in, Stacy and Jim are cut off by a young couple in a vehicle. As Hooker pursues one of the fleeing men Stacy and Jim move in, and the young couple flees. The same couple later robs a convenience store and shoots the clerk, and the baby they were with is soon abandoned in a church. While the couple, and the robber who escaped Hooker's pursuit, go on a crime spree, Stacy takes the baby into custody so it can be put up for adoption. While visiting the church with the baby, Stacy is confronted by the child's mother - and subsequently, the 2 robbers, just as Hooker, Romano and Corrigan arrive. One of the men - the child's father - tries to take Stacy hostage, but that fails when Stacy sinks her teeth into his arm, forcing him to let go and allow Hooker a clear shot. A series of young nurses are being murdered and a witness places another nurse at the scene. Hooker discovers some similarities to a previous case he had worked 6 years before, but the killer was never apprehended. It is soon discovered that the suspect may not be a woman at all, but a man dressing as a woman - specifically, a nurse. Hooker consults a young psychiatrist to develop a profile of the killer, but even as that is in the works, the fiend strikes again. Stacy disappears while posing as a TV aerobics dance instructor to help crack a series of murders and thefts.

Hooker tries to get something on a criminal whom they have trouble getting anything on. When the informant he sends gets killed Hooker tries to get his ex, a hooker to testify against him. They later learn that the criminal has someone on the inside looking after him, someone he knew since he was a kid. When the safe house is hit Hooker and the girl go on the run. Hooker and his colleagues take part in a drugs raid at a scrapyard. Afterwards, the body of a policeman is found; he wasn't involved in the raid and Hooker begins to suspect the officer was corrupt. Meanwhile, Stacy, who logged in the heroin seized, crosses paths with her former fiance, a lawyer who (unbeknown to her) has links to the same drugs gang. When he engineers a switch whilst the drugs are in transit to the LCPD laboratory, Stacy is suspended and eventually decides to quit the force. Hooker and Romano are determined to find out who ordered the killing. It turns out that the murder is over a photograph that shows a drug deal. A new shipment of drugs leads Hooker and the team to a shoot out with the dealers. The dealers manage to escape but are on the run. A tip off leads to a shootout and a successful conclusion. Hooker and the team are investigating a kidnapped girl. The family employ a psychic to help them find her. Hooker is ordered to work with the psychic but he is very sceptical of her abilities. She seems to be able to see where the child is but she also keeps seeing Hooker being shot. The team manage to determine who the likely kidnappers are but it is a matter of finding them in time. But when an attempt is made on one the gang leaders and the ones who did it were wearing the colors of the other gang but the other gang swears they didn't do it. But when more attempts on other gang members are made a war is brewing. Hooker tries to get them to calm down. Hooker and Romano come across what appears to be a robbery in progress. they go in and when they confirm it, they try to call for back up but some kids who were spray painting take the cruiser leaving them with no way to call for back up.
