Fungus the Bogeyman and his family live in joyous subterranean filth in Bogeydom, though Fungus frequently makes nocturnal visits Up Top, to the world of Dry Cleaners - or humans - including brisk leisure centre manager Wendy Snow, her unemployed husband Daryl and daughter Lucy - to give them a scare. When Fungus's rebellious son Mould tires of being a Bogeyman and decides to explore Up Top Fungus and his wife Mildew follow, the three of them disguising themselves as Dry Cleaners. They are given shelter by inventor Eve, who claims to have dedicated her life to helping Bogeys - and they will need help as, not only have they been exiled from Bogeydom but a Bogey hunter, Scarface, is on their trail. Eve moves Fungus and his family next door to Wendy and Daryl, the previous occupants having fled, after mistaking Fungus's visit for a ghost. It is a very clean house - to Mildew's dismay - but Daryl takes to the family ,believing them to be on Witness protection and Lucy befriends Mould. Daryl takes Fungus with him on a gardening job. but Scarface is in pursuit and Eve is not whom she first appears to be. And then Daryl discovers Fungus's true identity. Written by don @ minifie-1

After Daryl has seen him as a Bogeyman Fungus seeks help from Eve, only to discover that she is his old flame Bactoria Snotsoup, who fled Bogeydom to live Up Top years ago and is now inventing a machine to turn all Bogeys into Dry Cleaners and to kill her sister - though she will need Mould's youthful bodily functions to perfect the device. Taking Mould prisoner she returns to wreak havoc in Bogeydom.
