Team One must resolve a standoff at a seedy motel with a fugitive who's shot two police officers and taken a teenager, Paul Wilder (Devon Bostick), hostage. At first Paul seems like a good kid in a bad situation, but as the team digs deeper it uncovers chilling secrets that reveal Paul is far from innocent. What began as a standoff ends as a desperate chase through the city's sewer system, and it's up to Parker (Enrico Colantoni) to stop Paul from making a mistake that will change him forever. Meanwhile, Ed discovers that his cop brother Roy (Colin Cunningham) might have been responsible for one of the officers getting shot... and that his wife is, unexpectedly, expecting. Multiple child abductions lead the team to a distraught mother who will stop at nothing to put her family back together. The story opens with a young girl being kidnapped from a playground at a park. SRU is called in, and shortly thereafter, another girl, a little bit older, is also abducted by the same person. They quickly figure out that this is woman who has kidnapped the two children. This woman is actually their birth mother, who has been in prison for all of their lives. She was told by the parole board that if she pulled herself together once she was out of prison, and she got clean and got a job, she would have a chance to get her kids back. She was so focused on this for so many years, that when she finally did get our of prison and kept her promises to be clean and employed, she was told that she would never get her children back, she snapped and took them. The team surrounds the abandoned glass factory where Victor Ackland has his white supremacist HQ. He's among those who get away and plans are found for a synchronized set of bombs. Danny Butler, who disarmed a shooter and tipped off the team in the first place, implores help to save his kid brother, Travis (17). Travis considered their orphan siblings bond broken because Danny was dating a black girl. He was convicted of killing his daughter by shaking her which he denies. He then takes his wife and they go to the medical examiner who said their child's death was from being shaken. When they get there, he tells the medical to reexamine everything to prove his innocence. Ed who was in position at the lab where the tests have to be done goes in unarmed. When a man goes to a credit union and asks for 40 k in cash he is told that they can only give 10 and the rest will be in the form of a cashier's check. When he demands the entire sum in cash they still refuse that's when he grabs the guard's gun and demands his money. The team is called in. They send for the man's wife and upon seeing him on video says that's not her husband. The team subdues him. They discover his true identity and that he's been calling his son-in-law during the whole time. They try to locate him and they learn that he has a son who has leukemia and that they're trying to get a bone marrow transplant for the boy. That's why they need the money. When a 911 operator gets a call from a young person who is constantly telephoning in false alarms, the operator tries to hang up but she hears a shot so the team is sent to check it out. When they arrive they find a woman shot, and the girl is not there. They also find several ids. When the woman wakes up she reveals that her daughter witnessed a crime a few years ago. So that the authorities can catch the criminals, they went into hiding. She believes her husband and daughter are on the run.
