Welcome to Katie's Seafood, a small empire run by Buddy Guindon and his family in Galveston, TX. A staggering 25% of the Gulf's fresh seafood comes through Katie's, and Buddy handles a fleet of 30 fishing boats that deliver to his dock. When Buddy discovers that one of his boats has mechanical problems and another has missed its delivery, he recruits his brother Kenny and his son Hans to hit the water in a mad dash to catch and deliver 15,000 pounds of red snapper in 36 hours. With the clock ticking and Katie's Seafood's reputation for on-time shipments on the line, it's do or die for these battle-tested fishermen.

Katie's Fish House is one of the busiest fisheries in the Gulf of Mexico, and a recent quota increase has made them even busier. Nick not only has to deal with the demands of a bustling fish house, but also his overbearing father, Buddy, critiquing his every move. Things get even more heated when Buddy finds out that one of his captains brought in a batch of bad Red Snapper under Nicks watch. Ricky, still trying to find a place at Katie's, decides to try and take the fishery online. However, his website gets less than stellar reviews from Nick. Meanwhile, needing to pick up the slack from some of his captains, Buddy tells Hans he needs to stop lollygagging on land and hit the open water to help Katie's meet their quota. Hans, his newly patched ship, and his ragtag crew are put in a race against the clock to catch his quota in fish before it is due.

Katie's Fish House is one of the busiest fisheries in the Gulf of Mexico, serving some of the nations biggest seafood companies. When one of those companies, Louisiana Foods, wants to check out some fish, Buddy calls in his brother, and top snapper captain, Kenny to oblige them. Unfortunately, impressing the buyer comes at the cost of a full day for fishing, and pay, for Kenny and his crew. Not wanting to let his crew members down, Kenny goes out on a turn and burn, a twenty-four hour mad- dash trip to reclaim their lost pay. Hans, though on a successful grouper-fishing spot, decides to go off course in search of the massive Warsaw fish. Hans hopes that catching these rare, monster fish will bring him to the legendary fisherman status of his father. Meanwhile, Buddy, after finding out one of his captain's boats is down, enlists the help of Mac and his father, Greg to help fix up a spare boat to be used by Katie's.

Meanwhile, Hans is out at sea fishing for grouper, and decides to push the limits by fishing at the very bottom of the ocean floor. But when problems arise due to his reckless behavior, Hans must decide whether to play it safe or risk it all. When Mac reveals that his car is broken down, Buddy takes it upon himself to get it repaired. Buddy has taken a back seat in the day-to-day operations at Katie's, and has left it up to his sons to keep the business a success. Nick and Hans find out firsthand the pressures of being in charge, and they are both forced to make decisions that could ultimately prove costly to Katie's bottom line.

When Nick learns that he is 10K pounds short on a Snapper order, he turns to Hans and Kenny for help. Kenny has been Katie's go to guy for years, and Hans is the cocky up and coming fisherman in the industry. The two decide to split the order, and settle the score, by seeing who can catch 5K pounds of Snapper first. Meanwhile, Buddy is involved in his own battle. There are fishermen in the Gulf of Mexico illegally catching Snapper, and Buddy takes it upon himself to find out who is behind this. Buddy brings along his father Greg and his son Chris as decoys. Ricky has been working hard on Katie's online business, but when the shipping boxes fail to keep the fish cold, he must come up a solution fast.

Hans is wrapping up a long grouper fishing trip when Nick calls to let him know that Katie's Seafood is facing a snapper shortfall, and he'll need to catch 5,000 lbs before he returns to dock. Unfortunately, Hans can't find a spot where the fish are biting, and when he calls his uncle Kenny for advice, they get in an argument and Kenny refuses to help him. Kenny is busy with repairs on his boat the Falcon, and relies on 82-year-old frogman Mac to dive beneath the boat to clean the keel coolers. Meanwhile, Buddy and Katie drive to Austin to meet with their state representative, hoping to lobby on behalf of commercial fishermen.

When Katie's Seafood gets an unexpected offload of snapper, Kenny's fishing trip is sidelined. Even Nick, the fish house manager, is caught off-guard by it. Kenny learns it was all Buddy's fault, giving the boat the green light to offload and not telling anyone else. Now, the fish house is over capacity with red snapper. And Kenny and his crew can't go fishing and earn a paycheck. It's a classic case of Hurricane Buddy - stirring up chaos and leaving victims in its wake. But this time, Kenny's had enough.
